Irwinconsult’s Darwin Office recently reached a milestone 50 years of Engineering in the Northern Territory.
The opening of our Darwin office in 1964 saw us become an integral part of this burgeoning city. In the wake of the devastating Cyclone Tracy in 1974 we were well placed to be available to assist with the rebuilding of the city. We now engineer and work on some of the most iconic projects in Darwin; from Defence to Indigenous projects, our commitment to this unique territory remains strong.
To celebrate this exciting birthday, we held a party at Stokes Hill Wharf on the 18 September 2014. It was great to see everyone and we were privileged to be joined by two previous Directors of the Company, John Barker and Jim Forbes (Chairman) – both of whom spent time in the Darwin Office back in the 1960’s and 1970’s.
The longevity and strength of Irwinconsult Darwin is a testament to our highly experienced team. Neil Clarke, our Chairman and Director is a ‘lifer’ having had over 40 years with the company. Fifty years in business is a wonderful achievement for any company and one of which we are very proud. Thanks to those who helped us reflect on and celebrate our accomplishments in Darwin over the last 50 years. Here’s to the next 50!
