The 2017 Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) International Conference will be held in Sydney from 30 October to 3 November 2017.

The five-day conference will bring together presentations, exhibitions and panel discussions that address the 2017 theme of “Connecting the City, People, Density and Infrastructure.”

CTBUH conferences are the tall building / urban conferences to attend, for learning of the latest advances in the typology, for considering the future of sustainable cities, and for business networking.

The conference will explore beyond the tall building as an icon to debate a new set of guidelines and responsibilities towards skyscrapers becoming “connectors” in the city.

The discussion will include a broad range of topics, including urban planning, architectural design, cost consulting, vertical transportation, real estate development and curtain wall design.

Conference co-chairs this year include three Australian architects, Ken McBryde (principal, Hassell), Jeff Morgan (associate principal, Grimshaw Architects) and Philip Vivian (director, Bates Smart), as well as Antony Wood, executive director of CTBUH.
