The new purpose-built Monash Children’s Hospital is one of the largest children’s hospitals in Australia providing integrated children’s health services. Completed in December 2016, MCH is connected to the existing Monash Medical Centre Clayton (MMCC), integrating tertiary, primary and secondary care for children and increasing the capacity of paediatric services at MMCC and allowing for future expansion.

The new 230 bed hospital includes 96 paediatric beds, 12 children’s cancer day beds, 20 same day beds, 10 paediatric intensive care beds, 30 neonatal intensive care cots and 28 specialist mental health beds.

With advanced medical equipment, the hospital is set to treat more than 7000 patients every year with access to four operating theatres, diagnostic medical imaging, general paediatric outpatients with consulting and treatment rooms, an academic unit and satellite pharmacy.
