Construction of a multipurpose civic entertainment venue for the City of Wodonga to form part of the cultural heart of the region.

The structural engineering design utilised a mixture of steel, precast and insitu concrete construction as well as a mixture of traditional slab on ground and suspended slab on ground with screw piles to overcome a pocket of poor ground conditions within the building envelope. Situated in Wodonga’s civic precinct, the function centre includes office space, a café and bar area, roof mounted plant room as well as a 12m clear height hall with retractable seating, recessed band pit and a retractable full height soundproof dividing wall (Images courtesy of Williams Ross Architects).
