Irwinconsult have recently been awarded the contract to provide engineering services consultancy for the design and construction administration of the new $150 million dollar CSL Behring AlbuRx Manufacturing Facility at CSL’s Broadmeadows site.

Following on from our successful delivery of the $150M CSL Privigen facility, we will now be providing not only Mechanical Services, but also Hydraulics, Fire Protection Services and Vertical Transportation design for Australia’s national plasma fractionator and manufacturer of life saving plasma-derived therapies.

The AlbuRx facility see us embarking on a highly complex design phase including design of process chilled water and cooling water plant, plant steam systems, air handling systems to serve Grade C-A Cleanrooms and integration with pharmaceutical process systems by GEA, Germany. The project will be fully documented in 3D Revit and consolidated with the 3D models prepared by A5 Architects, Biotech Engineering and GEA to deliver a highly co-ordinated and clash free solution. Once completed, the facility will manufacture AlbuRx, a blood plasma based intravenous therapy for the treatment of burns, shock, pancreatitis, postoperative albumin loss, hypoproteinemia, liver failure and more.

This project represents a milestone on our continually growing relationship with CSL Behring Australia which has also seen us deliver the new CSL Administration Building at Parkville, Main Store Expansion project and Privigen facility to name a few.
